"Man is the measure
of all things: those things that exist, they exist, as to what does not exist, they exist"
-Greek
Philosopher Protagoras
This means that man must filter the world,
as it were, through his own senses; that he must not accept any view of things from such supposedly learned men as priests
but must himself do the work of perceiving.

“Through Sigma Alpha Iota, I have gained a better knowledge of music and how to appreciate
its craft, when I listen to music now, I hear things that I never listened for before. I am so grateful to this organization
for bringing me superb women like Marian Anderson, Sheryl Crow, Jessye Norman, Cora Coleman, Patricia Nixon, Mamie Eisenhower
and Leontyne Price who I can now call my sisters. I am everyday inspired to change the world through art which is why I am
also grateful for being able to be Social Chair of this organization in which I can elaborate on my creativeness and inspire
Howard University and the world to become artists in their own right and expand their minds and become intrigued by the gift
of music whether it be through dance, media, or even a simplistic melody from a newborn.”
After graduation, Cheryl plans to spend a year back home and in Belize and Africa doing research in plant
biology and child development, and then go on to Medical School to become a Pediatric Cardiologist or Reconstructive Surgeon.
