"Salutations! My name is Irene Moore and my hometown is Brooklyn,
New York. I am a Afro-American Studies and Biology double major . As an active member of Sigma
Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity for Women, Delta Nu chapter, since the Spring semester of 2006, I
can honestly say it is an experience in which one is transpired by the bonds of sincere and truthful friendship that
is ultimately defined by sisterhood.
To become a sister is a responsibility that is the ultimate test to the nature of ones character. I have
learned to give in ways I never knew were possible. Sigma Alpha Iota has taught me to
be selfless, for you are bonded as a sisterhood, an organization, a purpose that is so much greater than self. "
In addition, to being a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, Irene
is a Heads Up Elementary School Tutor. She enjoys traveling and spent the Summer of 2007 as a Study Abroad student
with American Intercontinental University in London, England.
In relation to her trip, she has been quoted as saying that "the most amazing part of the experience was
traveling to Ireland
and Amsterdam and
experiencing new cultures."
