Christie N. Dashiell is a jazz/contemporary vocalist and music business major at Howard
University. Christie was born in Washington, DC and raised in Greenville,
NC. Displaying an interest in music at an early age, her history includes performances
with Afro Blue, Howard’s premiere jazz vocal ensemble. She has also performed at the Kennedy
Center and Lincoln Theater in Washington,
DC and as a featured soloist at the 34th Annual International Association
of Jazz Educators Conference held in New York 2007. Christie most recently performed at this years
Conference (IAJE) held in Toronto, Canada
as a member of the Sisters in Jazz Collegiate All-Star performing group. In addition to these performances, Christie
has been in concert with Geri Allen, Vanessa Rubin, Nneena Freelon, Nancy Wilson, Carmen Lundy and Mary Stallings. Due to
her immense love for music, Ms. Dashiell chose to pursue membership in Sigma
Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, Delta Nu Chapter, during the Spring Semester
of 2007.
