Sheyrian Faithrenee Burns is a Senior, Music Education Major, Classical Voice minor from the
sunny state of Northern California. She is an energetic and fun loving young woman who has a passion for music
and life.
Since attending Howard University, Sheyrian has excelled in strength
and knowledge, and hopes to inspire those who come her way. Though Classical voice is her main study, Sheyrian
fell in love with all genres of music at a very young age. She was first introduced to choir through attending church, which
later led her to become a member of the Howard Gospel Choir, with whom she traveled to Italy
to do a Christmas tour. Sheyrian is currently a member of the Howard University Choir, whose
specialties are spirituals and classical literature.
In summer 2008, Sheyrian journeyed abroad with the Howard University's
Department of Music, to engage in an educational study of music at the University of Ghana in Lagon. Sheyrian
believes that "To whom much is given, much is required."
After graduation, she plans to teach music to the upcoming generation. She knows that music has the power
to transform, because it’s transformed her own life.
Sheyrian became a member of the Delta Nu Chapter
of Sigma Alpha Iota, during the Spring semester of 2007.
