Nicole Isadore is a senior Biology major at Howard. In addition to
being a dedicated member of the Delta Nu Chapter (initiated in the spring of 2008), she
is also a member of the Howard Gospel Choir, the concertmistress of the Howard Chamber Orchestra, a member of the National
Council of Negro Women, a mentor and tutorer.
Kendall has a deep love and
a passion for music. She has been singing for as long
as she can remember and began her classical training in piano
at age 8 and violin at age 9. Her musical accomplishments
include being featured with her violin in EBONY magazine in June of 2006 as one of the nation’s
Top African-American High School Students two years in a row. She has also performed
with classical vocalist Josh Groban, R&B singer Tony Terry, and R&B legend Roberta Flack. She has performed for the National Women’s Legislature Induction (San Diego, CA) and All-State Orchestras in Georgia and Indiana. In her spare time, Kendall teaches violin to elementary school students
and performs for school and community activities. Ms. Isadore was Miss Howard University 2008-2009
and was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society. She was recently asked to serve a
second term as Miss Howard University 2009-2010, and was crowned Miss HBCU 2009-2010 in October 2009.
Kendall
realizes that she has been incredibly blessed and highly favored. Her blessings
come from God, and it is because of Him, along with the love and support of her parents, that she
has come this far in life. In the future, Kendall
plans to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and go on to medical school
to become an Anesthesiologist. She also plans to continue
praising God and bringing joy to the lives of others through music.
On being a member of SAI, the Delta Nu Chapter:
“I feel
blessed to have been selected to become a member of such a prestigious organization and a chapter of women who are gifted
in all areas of music. The sisterhood is unlike anything
I have ever experienced. I am confident that the bond I have with my sisters
will prove to be a lifelong commitment."
